Welcome to Art!
There are many questions about credit hours and eligibility for Portfolio Prep that come up throughout the course of the year. I hope to answer your questions below. If you have any questions that still need answered please contact me directly. I will be happy to answer questions through email or by phone.
How many art credits do I need to graduate?
You need 1 full credit of any art class offered here at Olmsted Falls High School. All visual art classes have a
prerequisite of Art Foundations in order to take the other upper level art course offered. Please check the list of courses offered to see what prerequisite is required.
What Visual Art Classes are offered at Olmsted Falls?
We offer a variety of art classes:
Art Foundations (1 credit)
Ceramics (.5 credits)
Drawing (.5 credits)
CCP Drawing (1 credit)
Painting (.5 credits)
Sculpture (.5 credits)
Advanced Art (.5 credits)

How do I get into Portfolio Prep?
You need Art Foundations, Drawing, and 2 other upper level art courses that we offer.
What if I want to take upper level art courses but I don't want to take Port. Prep?
That's what Advanced Art is all about! If you have your Foundations in Art course out of the way, and you have taken 2 other courses such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics, you can take Advanced Art and focus in the class that you want. This works almost like an independent study in that focus area.
